The news of the revolution is speeding up can be seen quite widely these days. Not only the news from the Kachin and Rakhine states, but also the latest news from Karen State is encouraging for the revolution. We are witnessing many encouraging victories.
On April 6, according to the news, a total of 617 people surrendered from the military council, including 67 officers and 410 other ranks, from the Thin Gan Nyi Naung military strategic camp in the 6th KNU Brigade area in Karen State. It is not wrong to say that the great surrender ceremony in Karen State is unique and the great victory of the KNU and the revolutionary forces.
Among the members of the military council who surrendered,Tun Tun Lat was a colonel-ranked strategist. We got a lot of artillery and food, and our revolutionary forces won a great victory without firing a single bullet. Moreover, the Thin Gan Nyi Naung military strategic camp, which has now surrendered, is a strategic hill that has been firmly stationed for more than 50 years since 1968, as well as a strategically important strategic camp hill for Myawady and Thin Gan Nyi Naung.
It can be said that the surrender of the Thin Gan Nyi Naung strategy is the second largest surrender in the history of the military after Laukkaing, who surrendered to the Northern three brotherhood alliance earlier this year. It is also the most powerful and the first surrender ceremony in the southern Region. This is a historical victory of revolutionary forces. Surrender means the only way to survive, they have no ability to resist with no reinforcements.
After the surrender of Thin Gan Nyi Naung strategy, the revolutionary forces have continued to pressurize Myawady, the border trade city, and as far as we can know, negotiations are underway for the surrender of the 275, who are said to be Myawady City Guards. While the revolutionary forces are conducting such negotiations, they also said to be making preparations for various military situations that may arise at any time. The people of Myawady are also monitoring the possible fighting situation and some of them have even prepared shelters to avoid war.
I also noticed that the revolutionary forces in the southern part of the country are moving towards the desired goal with great acceleration and camp capture battles, while the military side is also making preparations for a re-offensive with the thought of being able to control Myawady and regain the lost military bases. Now, it is even heard that some of the armed men involved in the signing of the NCA are patrolling together with the army in Myawady town.
In particular, it is said that not long after the surrender of the Thin Gan Nyi Naung strategy, the battalions under the 55th Division in the Kalaw Cantonment were gathered and about 1,000 soldiers were being airlifted from the Kalaw Airport to Mawlamyaing Airport for operations in Karen State. The Burmese embassy in Bangkok requested permission for a Myanmar plane to land at Mae Sot airport to evacuate officers and government employees in Myawady. And with the permission of the Thai government, Myanmar Airlines transport planes landed in Mae Sot on April 7 and took the officials and the money deposited in banks of Myawady to Yangon.
Although the current situation in Myawady is complicated, we cannot say anything for sure, but the army has a habit of destroying the areas and military bases that they have lost, so the people and the revolutionary forces should take special care and prepare in advance for the coming days.
